Your Handy Guide to Spring Produce! [Infographic]

Spring has Sprung!

Yay, it’s springtime! The birds are chirping, the flowers are blooming, and your favorite fresh produce is finally back. Check out this cute infographic featuring some of our favorite fruits and veggies that are ripening up this season.

Radishes are a sadly underrated vegetable that have some great health benefits. They’ve got tons of natural nutrients to keep you feeling great all summer long. They also have a high water concentration, so you can hydrate and cool down as the weather heats up. Add some crunch to your summer salad with thinly sliced radishes.

Apricots are as delicious as they are adorable! This vitamin and antioxidant-rich fruit has that gorgeous orange color you can’t help but bite into. Apricot jam is a unique alternative to your typical berry jam. All you need are apricots, lemon juice, sugar, and some free time for a great family activity you can all do together.

On top of being delicious, avocados are super nutrient-rich. They have even more potassium than bananas! Try mashing up your avocados with salt, lime juice, tomato, onion, chiles, and cilantro for delicious guacamole. Fun tip: add guacamole to your BLT, turkey club, or burger for a yummy twist on your favorite sandwich.

The beta-carotene that give carrots their bright orange color is a powerful antioxidant, as well as a great natural source of Vitamin A. If you’re looking to get healthier this spring, you can enjoy carrots as a yummy alternative to crunchy junk foods. Dip your carrots in ranch, hummus, or veggie dip and snack away!

Artichokes are a delicious superfood. Studies have shown artichokes improve overall health, from brain function to boosted immunity. You can steam artichokes and serve them with melted butter for an easy, healthy addition to your dinner. And hey, have you ever tried artichoke on pizza? Sounds weird, tastes amazing!

Hi! My name is Lily. I love reading, researching, editing, and writing, so I’m super excited to be the newest Content Specialist at Nu expression! I’ve travelled all over the world and lived in many different places, which I think gives me a unique view of things. But the most important part of my life is my family, so I settled here in Winston-Salem to be closer to my mom and sister. My best friend is Oliver, my curly little poodle mix. We go hiking together every weekend. When I’m not writing, you can find me reading anything, from classic literature to science fiction to corny romance. I love jogging, singing along to bad pop music, and visiting art museums.
